THE CHELSEA PHARMACY
Calls your attention to its complete stock of everything
that it takes to make a complete stock in a well regulated drug
store. It is not one of thofe places where you can get what
you want by waiting till it's ordered by mail, but it is always
"Johnny on the Spot" with the goods.
In addition to the regular stock it has one of the com-
pletest stocks of candies ever brought to the city. Call and
inspect it, then you'll buy.
The cigar case contains nil the latest and most popular
brands of cigars, and when you want a pleasant smoke, give the
store a call. Both chewing and smoking tobaccos are earned
and in addition thereto, as many styles of pipes as was ever
displayed in a town the size of Chelsea.
There is an up-to-date soda fountain in the front of the
store and all kinds of cooling beverages as well as ice cream
and sherbet.
If you want to write a letter this store has the stationery,
and you can get just what you want without going nny fuither.
The prescription counter is presided over by a thoroughly
competent and painstaking prescriptiqnist, who will prepare
everything just as it should he.

TRANSPORTATION IN SIAM..
Quaint and Gorgeous Water Craft and
BuggiM Hade Without Metal
of Any Sort.
Slam's exhibit in tbe department of
transportation at the world's fair wili
embrace many interesting novelties.
Bangkok ia known as the Venice of tho ,
east. The great alluvial plain of south-
ern Slam is threaded with thousands of
miles of canals, which serve as the thor-
oughfares of the country. While in the
north and the less low lying regions the
rivers and rapid flowing streams serve
the same purpose.
The Siamese are an aquatic people and
as a result there is no nation in the
world probably that can show such a
number and variety of styles of floating
craft as can Siam. All these are repre-
sented at the world's fair from the deli-
cate little priest's canoe, so nicely ad-
justed to its burden of a single person
that its gun wales are scarcely above the
ripple of the surface, ar.d its balance is
so nice and its poise so graceful that it
appears a marvel on the waters, to the
splendid big rice boats, which for util-
ity, strei-st'A and form, as cargo boats,
are scarcely surpassed in the world.
There are hundreds cf models shov.-n
and macv full-sized boats, fcr the quiet
laroons. the rougher streams and the
open waters of the gulf.
The vehicles for land transportation
are a'most as numerous and varied in
type The various packs for the back
of bullocV.s, ponies and men, chairs and
sedans, and the howdahs for the ele-
phants. arc grouped with a great variety
of carts and sledges or drags, covered
and open as the case may be.
One particularly ingenious example is
a full-sized bu?^T. mad« entirely of
wood ar.d plaited bamboo even to the
springs, the whole being absolutely de-
void of iron. There are also full-sized
bulloel: carts. A peculiarity of all these
conveyances is that they are constructed
throughout without a nail or any iron
whatever.
