A mass meeting of the citizens
of Oklahoma City was held ooe
day this week for the purpose of
protesting against the clause in
the statehood bill locating the
state capital at Gjthrie until 1915.
This is a matter in which nobody
except a few Oklahoma City
boomers seems to be taking any
interest, and the probability is
that if th* question could be Mib-
mitted to the voters the 1913
clause in the bill would be en-
dorsed by a large majority.

We notice that Mr. Ferguson
assumes that there is something
the matter with the editor of this
paper and proceeds to diagnose
the case and prescribe a remedy.
In this case, however, as in some
others we have heard of Mr. Fer-
guson proves.to be a quack and
his diagnosis is wrong and his
remedy worthless.
A little weekly paper ever in
Payne county makes the announce-
ment that it will increase its cir-
culation to ten thousand copies
each week and will then have the
largest circulation of any paper in
Oklahoma. Which reminds us of
the story of the old negro who on
being asked what he was doing re-
plied he was catching rats. "How
many have you caught?" continued
the questioner. "Well," replied
the darkey, "when I get the ooe I
am after and two more I'll have
three."

Some Reasons why Yon
Should go to Falfurrias
1 Because the climatc is ideal,
the winters being mud and plea>aat
and the heat of the summers temper-
ed by cooling bretzea from the gulf.
• Because the soil is wonderfully
1 rich and proauctive and produces all
kinds of crops grown in a semi-trop-
ical climate.
Because the water supply U plen-
tiful and pure an ' can be bad wttkla
fram 20 to M) feet of the surface. Ar-
tesian water ia found at a depth of
♦•■iO feet.
4 Because crops can be grown and
matured here weeks in advance of
other sections of the country, thws
commanding top prices.
3 Because cotton, corn, vegetables
fruits and nearly every farm product
can be produced here.
« Because tbere Is no better stock
country on earth.
Became there ia no better poul-
try country than this.
" Because lands are yet cheap and
a man with small capital has a chance
to succeed.
Because there are schools and
churches on all aides
10 Because the people are large
hearted and progrrs.ive and welcome
the 'jomeseeker with hospitality.
The above are hut ten of the rea-
sons you should locate in south Texas.
Thero are many other reasons. To
