THE HOME
Pliny Soper like a good many othe r
sensible people don’t see anything to
be gained by entering into a debate
with the separate state advocates The
hope is a forlorn one and is falling
pretty flat in the northern part of
the territory The fact is very little
interest has been manifested in the
movement at any time A prominent
Cherokee citizen remarked yesterday
that the very men who plundered the
tribes and rendered them bankrupt
and destroyed their Indian nationali-
ties are leading in the campaign for a
separate state Everybody knows that
many of these men are absolntly cor-
rupt and the record Is against them
To get away from these grafters by
being absorbed in a big state is the
desire of hundreds of Cherokee citi-
zens — Vinita Chieftain
“Young man yon will not land any-
where unless yon land yourself’’ says
Bent Mnrdock “and yon will not
amount to a thing unless you cat out
tobacco whisky gambling and loafing
Yon are practically your own boss
and your life will be just what you
make it The business world is call-
ing hourly for honest industrious and
clean young men who are not afraid
to work Opportunity is knocking at
your door Be a man and go out in-
to the world and do a man’s work
Don’t be afraid and you will land”
Uncle Jerry Hubbard preached the
fnneral sermon of Annty Dyer who
died in the Wyandotte nation some
six weeks ago last Sunday at Wyan-
dotte and bad lived there over 50
years
A Household Necessity
'I would atmost as 'soon think of thin-
ning my farm without implements as
without Hunt’s Lightning Oil Of all the
liniments I have ever used for both man
and beast it is the quickest in action
and richest in results For burns and
fresh cuts it is absolutely wonderful 1
regard it as a household necessity
