PRECINCT CAUCUSES.
A Precinct caucus should be held in each precinct to select its set
of delegates. It is the duty of pretinct committeemen to call these
meetings but as a number of precincts have no committeeman we
suggest they be held on Saturday March 2, at the regular poling ilace
This sugestion refers only to the precincts outside ot Cordell,
It is desired that every precinct send its full quoto of delegali to
the county conxentson. This is the year that united eOort will win.

The presence of Bill Sanders as the democratic repre-
sentative in the county convention from Korn may answer
the question why he was turned'loose. He was the only
democrat in the precent and had he been absent that pre-
cenfc would not have been represented.

The Weatherford Booster says the Aiken Bill will "rob
the boys and girls ot the advantages of getting an educa-
tion" It should of added "'at Weatherford'". The Aiken
bill proposes ta pla ?e a high school in every rural district
containing 25 square miles giving the boy and girl an op-
portunity to get his education at home. Sign the petitions
and when the time comes vote for it.

We have read the resolutions as adopted by the Rocky,
Sentinel and Foss precients reported in the respective pa-
pers and conclude they were sent out to each precient from
democratic head quarters. They all say the same thing
about the Jeff democracy also the improvemets put onto it
by Jack and the free silver tingle added by Billy. Condemn
Judge Hook and militarism, want the money to remain in
the people's pockets and ask for economic administion in
National, State and County government etc. The County
convention had a list fixed up, for it also along the same
lines. Surely democracy is attempting to hold together.
ooo
The result of Saturday's democratic county convention
•slaould demonstrate to the democracy the ability of Richard
Billups as a smooth and practical politician, also these re-
sults must be very gratifying to Mr. Billups as it demon-
strates that he has the democratic voters of the county be-
hind him. Mi-. Billups is a hard worker and no sooner had
the city caucus gotten th-rough their work then he was out
making medicine. The very next day he began work and
kept it up until the close of the convention Saturday and
his wining was the result. It would be less humiliating to
these Cordell politicians who attempted to capture the
Judge's scalp if they would throw in with Billups and fol-
low a winning leader.

Among the resolutions offered at the democratic coun-
ty convention Saturday was one condemning the State
Equalization board for the raise in valuations. Why con-
dem this board. The money raised was needed to meet the
current expenses of the State and must be raised either by
a raise in valuation or the rate and as the constitutional rate
would not raise sufficient money to^neet the demands, a
raise in the equalization was necessary.

Anothkk resolution in the potpouri introduced in the
democratic convention last Saturday was one conmending
the economical administration of the county officers. We
were pleased to note this resolution and feel inclined to
o-ave credit to the county commissioners, as every county
officer save the county attorney are using up all the money
the commissioners will allow them
puties if they could except

this official, but the commis-
sioners stand between them and the salary fund. In this
^nnpotion we are induced to give credit for the spasm
ecomony to County Attorney Smith and The Hcrald-Sen-
tinol whose editor met with a cowardly assualt at the hands
of one of the commissioners and Mr Smith has lost favor
with them We are of the opinion that had the democratic
invention wanted to get down to the roots of the economy
nracticed now in the county and thank the proper persons
it should have lifted its hat to County Attorney Smith and
