Chicken paprika is our dish
A penny if you can guess
what goes into it Chicken of
course and paprika But what
makes it an epicure’s choice?
If we say this is a Hungarian-type
dish you’ll know
right away that one of the
ingredients is sour cream
For Hungarians are known to
use sour cream in many of
their best recipes It blends
harmoniously with other foods
and adds a note of nourish-
ment Knowing ours is an up-to-date
American recipe for
chicken paprika you might
guess that something quick
and easy from a can makes
the sauce And that’s right
for it’s condensed tomato soup
The sour cream and tomato
soup sauce make chicken pap
rika something to really crow
about And they're both staple
kitchen items so you can
whip up chicken paprika any
time there’s chicken in the
refrigerator or freezer Here’s
how:
CHICKEN PAPRIKA
1 frying chicken cut into
pieces (8 pounds ready-
to -cook)
piour
cup butter $£7
cup chopped onion
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 can (iy cups) condensed
tomato soup
1 cup sour cream
1 bay leaf
V teaspoon salt
V teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons paprika
Dust chicken with flour
brown well in butter Add
onion and mushrooms cook
until lightly browned Stir in
remaining ingredients Cover
cook over low heat about 45
minutes stir occasionally Re-
move bay leaf before serving
