A summons or notice is legal
demand that you appear in court
to defend your right It may be
served by an officer or any
citixen over 21 years of age who
has no interest in the case You
are served when the paper is de-
livered to you It may be deliver-
ed without the person who makes
service ever seeing you The paper
may be left for you at your usual
place of abode with someone of
suitable age which means with a
child for instance who is old
enough to be relied upon to deliver
the paper to you
Occasionally some person with
previously conceived notions of
his rights will ignore such a sum-
mons He "may decide that there
is nothing to the claim or that
it is a species of blackmail and
that he will have nothing to do
with it Don’t take that attitude
It may cost you money when you
don’t owe any You may be re-
quired to do something which you
ought not in justice be compelled
to do because the court will not
know your side of the case and
will enter judgment by default
against you

joined the company in the Musko-
gee operating department immed-
iately after his graduation from
the University of Oklahoma in
June 1940 At the university he
earned a Bachelor of Science de-
gree in Petroleum Engineering
In June 1941 Ingram transferred
to the Engineering Department in
Tulsa
