says the Eagle one of the witness-
es a policeman stated that he did
not want to give the names of the

the supposition has always been
that when a man goes to a sport-
ing house he takes off his good
character and leaves it with a

A special dispatch to the Kan-
sas City Journal from Alva dated
Oct 25th says that C C Andre
living nine miles southwest of Al-
va was si ot aud instantly killed
by hisbrother-iu-law- Fred Van-
Bibber who fired three loads from
a shotgun into his body as the re-
sult of a family feud of long stand-
ing The families live on adjoin-
ing farms and Andre is said to
have been the agressor He was
in town just before the shooting
drinking heavily aud stated that
he was going out to settle with
Van Bibber Van Bibber waived
preliminary bearing and was
bound over to the grand jury
