CLOSED SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL
Professor Alva Prssnell closed a
very successful term of school in the
Eddie District No 87 on Friday
April' 29th The Board of Directors
of the Eddie District has the follow-
ing to say of Mr TressneU’s work
during the past term “As a teacher
and disciplinarian Professor Pressnell
lias hut few equals and we recom-
mend him as such” — Signed: C F
Chamberlain Clerk J W Woods
and T G Jennings Directors In
closing a successful school in this
district Professor Pressnell has added
additional laurels to his record as a
teacher in Ellis county as this school
has been orte 'of the most troublesome
schools in the county for the past few
years - Mr Pressnell is one of the
oldest teachers in the county ' in
point of service in the school room
and we might add one of the most
successful of 'teachers ever employed
in the county i
“BECAUSE HE’S MY FRIEND’
He may be six kinds of a liar
He may he all Ijinds of a fool
He may be a wicked high-flyer —
Beyond any reason or rule
There may be a shadow above him
Of perils and woes that impend
And I may not respect but I love him
Because — well because he’s my friend
I know he has faults by the million
But his faults are a portion of him
I know that his record’s Vermillion
And he’s far from a sweet seraphim
But lie’s always been square with
your’s truly
Always ready to give or to lend
And though he is wild and unruly -I
love him— because he’s my friend
I knock him 1 know but I do it -The
same to his face as away
But if other folks knock him thev
rue it
And wish they’d had nothing to say
I never make diagrams of him
No map of his soul have I penned
For I don’t analyze -I just love him
Because — well because he’s my friend
