DAVIS OKLAHOMA THURSDAY DECEMBER 9 1920
$150 A YEAR
More for Gasoline Than for
Health
? ' t
By Dr A R Lewis
- i State Health Commissioner
Oklahoma spends more every
five days for gasoline in automo-
biles and trucks than it spends
- yearly for preserving and pro-
moting public health Approxi-
mate proportion is one-seventy-third
as much for health as gaso-
line It is estimated that there are
virtually 150000 trucks and pas-
senger automobiles in Oklahoma
Estimating their daily gasoline
only one gallon— which automo-
bile men say is a very low figure
—the state pays out about
t $45000 every 24 hours for gaso-
line Much more is bought for
other uses
Oklahoma raised about $60000
in 1919 during the Tuberculosis

Genuine Ford Service— and Parts
Insist on genuine Ford parts for your Ford car Mail order houses
stores and many garages sell imitation— counterfeit parts which have not the
quality of the genuine Ford parts but the Authorized Ford Dealers sell only
the genuine Ford-made Ford parts You are safe with them while your car
is mighty unsafe if repaired with imitation parts The real Ford parts are
made fforn the same properly heat-treated steel as their counter-parts in the
Ford car Every part is heat-treated according to its use Depending upon
the service they perform Ford parts are tempered to insure the longest life
Tested after almost every operation while being manufactured these parts
present a vast difference from those not manufactured under Ford supervi-
sion Counterfeit parts range from thirty to seventy-five per cent below the
quality of the -Ford standard Don’t take chances demand Ford parts'
they’re safer Bring your Ford to us and thus make “assurance doubly sure”
If you want a Ford car truck or Fordson tractor leave your order without de-
lay as now we can make fairly prompt delivery— Touring Cars Coupes

ThaM & S Bakery -
Like all other business houses
in town we have reduced our
prices on bakery goods though
not in as conspicuous a way as
some Owing to the sizes of our
pans we are not able to make
any difference in the price but
we are increasing the size of the
loaf We have increased the
size of our 10c loaf gradually
since Oct 1 from 13 oz to 16
oz and our 15c loaf has been
raised from 20 oz to 24 ‘ After
the 1st of the coming year we
think we will be able to cut down
to 3 loaves for 25c and all other
goods will come down in com-
parison 'Come and see us and

Speak Kindly
There are omniforms of vigorous loves
That were never ordained by God above
But fellowman love should be Opcrose
A love which God would not oppose
We see a boy walking his head bent
‘ low' --
Our mind seems to wander why his
walk is so slow -
H6 raises his head with an unpleasant
' look
It may be somewhere the boy met a
crook
It may be some unkind words have been
spoken -It
may be from promises someone has
broken
Don’t kick him down you don’t know
his part ' '
Just one unkind word may break the
1 boy’s heart"
It may be in sorrow or grief he is led
It may be his sister from virtue has
fled
Don’t criticize him you’ve nothing to
gain
And to give him ill treatment may
cause the boy pain
Ho may he heart broken from things
of the past
It may be his mother from sorrows
elapsed
She’s longing- to see him and still the
boy roams
Give him a kind word and hasten him
hotte
A
Every word spoken should it be a com-
mand It should be to higher the standard of
man
And by our actions He’ll understand
That our great intent is to help fallen
man

Davis oil field and eager to get
news from it but none seems to
be available!
The prevailing opinion 'is that
Choate well No 1 will be finished!
before Christmas and Davis will
know whether Santa Claus is to
bring an oil well or not
It is reported that gas pockets
were struck at the Choate well
this week but this report lacks
