Oor New Umm
Ma's a Delegate to the Women's
Democratic Convention
and for the last two week we've been
having a "Ham-and Mc-draw" Convention
at our house every eveninjr after dinner.
Dad and 1 alius hate to have ma meet
with a lot of wimmen where they talk
hinirs over 'cause we know that it'll make
n lot of new rules for us to live up to.
Kvery little while for the past week or
two ma's been talkin' about what she
t alis u womens rijrht convention women
from all over the State are comin to in-
dorse Senator Owen. She said nhe'd have
to entertain two of the delegate and dad
said he'd be darned if she would. And
right there and then you'd a thought pa
and ma was Congress discuaaing the
League of NMiona. Dad aaid "If wirnmcn
w ant to hold meetina' that didn't amount
to nothin' any way that they ought to go
to hotels and pay their way Jurt like men
folks." Than ma tore Into dad by saying
that it was just aa much her house as
'twas his and anyway women didn't have
the money to fool away like the men had
and if he only knew it it would be a big
opportunity for him to improve hia mind
just talkin to these wimmen 'cause they
are the smartest in the Country and that
was the reason they were selected as delegates.
P. S. And Incidentally these visiting delegate! who know economy
will have a chance to save port of their expenses by buying their boys
dothea at our January Clearance Sale.
