You will remember that I told you
in the last issue that we were going to
elect officers at our next meeting and
this took place in the regular form
and the same officers were elected to
fill the ensuing term The business

some deferred business and this com-
mittee will I am sure do the best that
is possible to look after the work that

After the business session there
came as you were told about the pro-
gram that was the efforts of the young
people and due credit was given them
for they did well on their part The

Uncle Jerry was given prompt' atten-
tion by Otho Witham This being
the first effort on the part of the young
people they did well We intend to put
on some more of these stunts but do
not know at just what meeting they
will take place so if you want to take
in these entertainments you had better
stick around each night as we are not
going to let you know when they will
come
As the weather was blustery and the
whooping cough is in the neighbor-
hood there were not as many present
at the last meeting as we expected

Farfhers are busy harvesting wheat
and ’oats These crops are good this
year
Ed Wheeler is having his residence
painted and repaired
John Bakhaus is in Oklahoma City
this week on business'
The Callison brothers were in Castle
last Sunday and made a present to
Ye Scribe of a crate of tame dew ber-
ries that are very delicious and large
Mrs Milah Phillips received a pain
ful scald last Saturday by turning a
skillet of hot grease over onto her
wrist
Tolbert little son of T E Elliott and
wife has been very sick since Sunday
but is some better at this writing
Mrs Sarah Loveland our efficient
postmistress has been confined to her
bed with neuralgia for several days
She is improving slowly at this time
Walter Fullbright and wife who
have been in Roy New Mexico for the
last ten months for his health re
turned on a visit to his parents last
week Walter is much improved in
health They will return to Roy N
M after the fourth
Louie Brannan of the Castle State
Bank but now with his parents in Pa-
den came down last Sunday to visit
old friends and his best girl
Orville Bakhaus left Monday fo
Camp Zachary Taylor Louisville Ky
where he unites with the Reserve Of
fleers training corps Orville is a fine
fellow and we predict for him a suc-
cessful career
