County News) The United Press news service was so certain
that the armistice terms submitted by the allies to the Germans
would be signed this morning that they took a chance and stated
that they had been signed Several towns have been putting on
celebrations on the strength of these dispatches A cablegram
received at Washington a 2 o’clock this afternoon American time
however denied that the armistice had been signed
Press dispatches also announce that Sedan has been captured
by the Americans and that they have also made other substantial
gains
