LIVELY CHASE
United' State Marshal Stephens
was in the city this morning and told
about the capture of two Ford cars
loaded with whiskey which was made
Sunday afternoon near Catale
M A Linde and Arthur Geis ac-
companied by two women had charge
of the cars Linder and the woman
with him were in the first car and
surrendered at once but Geia and the
other woman were captured only
after the liveliest sort of a chase
during which several shots were
fired
A search of the cars revealed a
total of 684 half pints and 168 quarts
of whiskey which was broken The
meq were taken to Vinila where they
were arraigned Monday Linder en-
tered a plea of not guilty and was
held under $1500 bonds Geis plead
guilty to the charge of violating the
federal prohibitory laws and will be
held for sentence
