BIG REPUBLICAN
MEETING— NIT
The bis Republican meeting: that
had been advertised for several weeks
too take place in Arnett last Friday
proved to be a very tame affair
The day was an ideal one for the
occasion - i ' -
Arnett republican’s spared heither
money or pains to make the meeting
a success with the hopes of uniting
the two factions of the Republican

their hard work after all their good
money had been spent and after
Providence "had favored them with
good weather the close of what was
to have been a big day left the offi-
ce seekers present with a dark blue
taste in their mouth that will last
them all through the coming camp-
aign N s

fact it was a big success when
looked at in the light of a neighbor-
hood picnic There” was lots of

they had fed four hundred of which
two hundred and fifty were children
(and children have good appetites)
jfour yoters from Fargo two from
Gage and seven other' Republicans
from different parts of the county
there was grub left Yes the ban-
' quet was a success But the look

of dispair that appeared on the faces
of the committee and candidates
after the committee meeting (which
was held behind closed doors and
wan a very small affair as the dem-
ocrats and cbildren were barred from
it) was evidence enough to convince
the public that they had failed in
their purpose
