A GOOD FAIR
The eighth annual meeting of the
Jet Fair Association opened here yes-
terday with a fair attendance plenty
of race stock and a fair display of
agricultural and live stock
With the exception of the dust
underfoot the weather was all that
could be desired A slight breeze
from the south sufficient to keep one
cool but not to raise the dust pre-
vailed all day
Owing to the scarcity of fruit the
display in Floral Hall is somewhat
small tins year but -a great many
people expressed surprise that the
display is as large as it is The best
and largest exhibition of wheat is on
display that we have had for many
years

great Jet E’air
W hat wonderaf ul sights I do declare”
lie was simply expressing in words
the thought in the minus of many
otliers
The fair yesterday was a record
breaker for the second day - Many
people have expressed their desire of
attending every day as ttie claim it is
i superior to any E’air they havealtend-
I ed yet at a town the size of Jet The
day was ideal and excepting for the
(fanners of Lids vicinity being exceed-
ingly busy there is no doubt but a
much larger crowd would have been
present The crowd however was
larger than wa expected and also
-they were well please feeling that
tliey had been well repaid for their
trouble
Home is the pleasure of all pleasur-
es Wlxat sweeter song can be sung
than “Home Sweet Home”? You
hear it from the lips of the poor
wanderer on the streets as well as the
millionaire that lives in a mansion
with a great massive stone lront- The
The golden glow of millions cannot
increase the hospitable blaze of the
farmers fireside it is done only by
honest pat ient toil careful planning
and time Notice for instance the
I instance the farmer as he goes forth
I to the field in the springtime how he
is so careful to prepare his soil “J ust
Rriglit” before he plants liis seeds
I then the many days of work after-
wards lending t lie little plants before
lie reaps his harvest All of this is

I is not found wanting in her part of
ilhe work as she spends many hours
days and weeks preparing different
articles of fancy work gal tiering the
truit and making it into Jellies pre-
serves butters pickes and etc which
requires much faithful toil during the
warm season of the year Do not
j wonder then why so many beautiful
