Turner delivered the dedication speech and both he and Mrs. Turner rode at the head of the parade...Motorboat races, water skiing and square dancing by the Spavinaw Gay Nineties club featured the afternoon attractions......The Pensacola dam impounds waters of the Grand lake which has, at power pool level and area of 46,000 acres amd a power storage volume of 1,200,000 acre-feet. An additional storagr of 540,000 acre-feet is provided for flood control above the power pool level. The Grand river drainage area above the dam comprises 10,300 sqaure miles...Framces Paris, general manager of GRDA, was master of ceremonies......Turner reviewed the hidtory of the project and the act of the 1935 legislature creating the authority"
