A. L Clark is building afoot bridge
over Eagle creek to place him in con-
nection with bis stable and feed lots.
The band boys are putting in good
time these loug nights practicing.
They are under the leadership of Dr.
Nauman.

The rain Wednesday morning was
a welcome visitor. It reduced the
temperature, laid the dust and bene-
fitted the pastures.

Joseph Newman and Burbie Beck
are getting out rock with which to
build a foundation for James Beck's
water tank. Mr. Newman will do the
stone work.

Mitch Lamberson was down to
Keifer a few days this week. He says
prohibition is already in force down
there and that a drink of good water
is as hard to get in that town as a
pint of booze.
S. A. Paul and wife have rented the
Cook residence on Sixth street. These
people have just moved in from Lo-
max, Illinois, and expect to make
their home in Pawnee county.
If you want bargains in good things
to eat and wear just follow the crowd
to Finley Bowls' store.
Rev. J. R. Carver left Wednesday
afternoon for his home near St. Vrain,
New Mexico. He will be absent for
six or seven weeks wnen be will re-
turn to Ralston and resume his work
as pastor of the Presbyterian church.
Bro. Carver has many friends here,
both in and out of the church, who
will be glad to have him with us again.
You will find all prices reasonable
at the Comet. We do not put on
special sales or give premiums. Our
goods are marked cash in your pock-
ets—not ours.
The dead don't appreciate your
floral offerings. If you have any flow
ers to donate scatter them along the
pathway of the living.
The southbound passenger train was
about four hours late Wednesday But
come to think about it, it hasn't been
on time since the election.
Bob Jones, who talis been on the
sick list and not able to leave his
room for three weeks or more, was
up town Wednesday, for the first
time during his sickness.
How to Cure a Cold.
