Capt. H. A. Todd returned
Wednesday, from Kansas City,
where he had been, on business
for several days. He reports the
crops of Kansas far behind those
of Oklahoma, and says Oklaho-
ma, and especially the vicinity
of Calumet, is good enough for
for him.
The base ball fans were defeat-
ed by a score of 7 to 2 by the
Hinton team. It would tuka a
good team to beat the Hinton
ball t3am aid tliiir unpirei.
There wera about tweaty five
from Calumet witnessed the
game and all report a good time.
C. C. Thompson took the fol-
lowing parties to El Reno, Mon-
day evening in his new auto: A.
T. Moores, Wendell Thompson,
Robt. Crowley, J. F. Cockrell,
and C. E Mench, where they at-
tended the Masonic banquet
The boys say they had a good
time as the El Reno boys know
how to entertain.
C. E. McCoy brought to this
office a sample of wheat which he
raised on his place 1A miles south
of Calumet, which is fine. The
large heads are fully developed
and only the process of ripening
required to develop as fine wheat
a? we have ever seen. He says
he has 50 acres of this quality
and other fields in his locality are
on about the save average.
Have you been reading the
articles of the Captial City Busi-
p-->33 College, if so can you fail to
take advantage of theiroffers? If
t'sir is a deserving young lady
or gentleman in this vicinity who
ivully wants to do something and 1
:n ike use of their talents, there
i3 an opportunity for you. Inves- j
tigate the same.
N otice
1 will do any kind of hauling
or freighting, which does not in-
terfere with the general dray
business of the town.
