Oh, of course, the postofiice
frauds are now to be laid on
Cleveland, who was president
some six years ago. That won't
do boys! Whiie we have no
more use for Grover than you
have, he conducted an honest ad-
ministration and every thief was
fired. No, republicans, that gag
won't work. Now let vour Ted-
dy bare just a stiff a backbone
as democratic Grovsr Cleveland
and there wont be a dozen repub-
licans left in office in Washing-
ton and cussed few in Oklaho
n:at
Thk republicans will hold a
statehood convention in Enid
early in September. It does not
seem desirable that democrats
and the democratic press should
participate. Well, we can stand
off likt a gang of bouad boys at
a shucking and look on until we
get a democratic president—then
you un's look out. It my be that
you can make a republican state
with a republican constitution
but there is a way to amend such
documents.
The papers of the country hare
turned loose on the Delaware
mob. We question if it is any
more brutal for a mob to take
the life of a brute than it is for a
brute to outrage and then mur-
der an innocent, defenseless girl,
and we don't forget that for say-
ing the like heretofore ne have
been raked OTer the coals.—
Wichita Eagle.^
Muhdeks are becoming so fre
quent in Guthrie and Oklahoma
City that Enid is thinking of
ctuting off all railroad connec-
tion with those villages..
Kansas City Stock Yards
□ Receipta at Kansas JCity Stock-
yards for the five days ending
June 2(>th, amount to 15,334 cat-
tle. Same week last year, 18,121
cattle, from which it will be seen
that nearly as many cattle arriv-
ed as last year, and that condi-
tions are again about normal.
Receipts of hogs amounted to
59,661 head. Same week last
year 21,349 head. Over three
times as many hogs were market-
ed at Kansas City this week, as
same week last year, from which
it would appear that the recent
floods have not frightened the
hog shippers away from this
market. Hogs deelined here the
first days of the week in face of
heavy receipts, the same us at
other markets, but with only
7500 hogs here Friday, market
was strong and regained 15 to 25
cents of the loss.
Some of the up river markets
have been trying to make it ap-
pear that commission men and
order buyers here had moved up
there. Such was not the case.
One or two salesman for commis-
sion houses here went up to look
after shipments they had on
those markets, and also a few of
the order buyers, but they re-
mained only a few days, and now
all are back at their old stands.
The packing plants are all in
operation again. Armour Pack-
ing Co., National Packing Co
Swift & Co., Cudahj Packing
Co., Ruddy Bros., and Schwarzs-
child & Sulzberger, have all been
killing cattle, hogs aud sheep
this week. Armour Packing Co.
alone purchased 25,012 hogs on
the market at Kansas City this
week.
Shippers in native cattle, hogs
and sheep need have no fear
about their shipments being well
cared f.or here now, and every-
thing in the native yards has
been restored to its ordinal con
d*i ion.
The quarantine division for
Texas cattle across the river will
be in as good shape as ever for
business by July 6th,
Jno. H. Hazhlton,
Livestock Correspondent.
A cakTOOn in the dailies shows
Russia demanding of Servia
"who killed the king and
queen?" Servia replies by ask-
ing: "Who massacred those
Jews?" Very good!
We presume no democrats are
to be allowed in that statehood
convention to be held here on
September 1. Well, being a
one-sided deal, whatever iuiquity
is perpetrated the democracy
will have no responsibility in it.
Wichita, Kan., June 27.—Dan-
iel Miller of this city, traveling
for the Milwaukee Harvester
Company, committed suicide to
night. lie was addicted to
drinking and became dishearten-
ed. He went to his room about
8 o'clock and took morphine. He
was found an hour later, hut
died at 11 o'clock without re
gaining consciousness.

The Deestrlct Skulc
—A crowded house greeted the ama-
teur performance of the "Deestrict
Skule", la*t night. Owing t* the
fact that we had lo go to press the
next morning, we could gi e but brief
mention of a most amusing entertain-
ment. It was far above such per-
formances in point of management and
the merit of each participant. The
audience showed its appreciation by
generous applause. Seme of the act-
ors were far lu advance cf the aver-
age amateur, netably Dr. Richardson
Gov. Whittinghlll, Mrs, J. T. Reed,
Mrs* Frank Marshall. Mr. & Mrs,
Leland, James Evans, Mr. Swigart,
Mrs. Winger, Mr. Pieratt, Mr. Par-
rlat. and indeed the whole caste was
so good to single out names would
seem to be making invidleus distinc-
tions. The fun was fast aid furious
and we doubt if any Enid audience
for a long time has enjoyed a pablic
entertainment so completely as they
did that of last night. It was the top-
ic of conversation all over the streets
next morning and each individual
performer was complimented. The
redieulous old fashioned costumes ex-
emplified the ingenuity of each and
while the young people of today may
thfnk they were gross exaggerations,
ths writer well recollects the short
pants, the towstring and hickory bark
suspenders, the highly ruffled panta-
lettes and lengthly curls, the cruelly
loud color of the dresses and many
other features of costume which 40 or
50 years ago seemed delighlfully nat-
ural to us backwoods folks. We have
heard much surprise expressed at
Whittinghill'a inaccurate effort tore1
cite "iviary's Little Lamb," and it Is
said that he got it inextricably mixed
up with "Twinkle, Twinkle Little
Star." Mrs. Jones was tumultuously
applauded for her excellent preseuta
tion of "Lord Ullin's Daughter."
The whole formed an evening's
amusement long to be remembered
and which could be repeated without
detracting from the interest it would
excite. We hope to sec it again pro-
duced at >'.o distant date.

stand the shoeking strain «f laxative
syrups, cathartics, etc., are invited
to try the famous Little Early Riser*.
They are different from all other pills.
They do not purge the system. Even
a double dose will not gripe, weaken
or sicken: many people call them the
Easy Pill. W.H.Howell, Houston,
Tex., says nothing better cau be used
fur constipation, sick Jheadache, ect.
Bob Moere, Lafayette. Ind., says

The Old Cracker Barrel-
; vi
ever think how many different kinds of soda crackers the grocer gets out of
that barrel ?
There s the top layer sort and the bottom layer sort—there's the damp day
kind and the dusty day kind—there's the mackerel flavor and the kerosene
flavor and when you order bulk soda crackers you can never tell which kind
you are going to get. That's the old way.
The new way is to get Uneeda Biscuit in the In-er-seai Package.
You can get only one kind of
Uneeda
ti
the kind that are always fresh, crisp and clean—the kind that are the same
to-day, to-morrow every day. The In-er-seal Package, which is airtight, keeps
out all dampness, dust, germs and odors.
