Stop and Think!
Do you ever stop and think? Do you some-
times pull up that big "comfy" chair, get your
favorite pipe perhaps, and settle down to real
hard thinking? Sometimes you'll have a ref-
erence book to aid you. Suppose you are a
lawyer and your reference book is a Blackstone.
Pretty well worn from long usage, isn't it1 As
you sit there thinking, going over your argu-
ment point by point, your fingers pick and
tear at those frayed corners, making them
worse. Suppose you start in fresh, get that
Blackstone re-bound so there will be no ragged
edges to pick at and break yourself of the habit
of picking at things while you think. It's a
bad habit anyway and encourages nervousness,
generallj' ending with a big doctor bill.
