Storms for June
Rev. Irl R. Hick's prediction:
tar May were wond^rfu'ly fulfill
ed. The awful occurrences of
that month were graphically
predicted by him. We give below
a portion of prognostications for
June:
There can be no reasonable
doubt that the peculiar conditions
last summer were the direct re-
sults of the unusual concentra-
tion of planets; and that the ap-
palling- seismic horrors now fall-
ing- upon many sections of our
planet, are only the sequel to this
same astronomic combination, all
of which have been toreshadow-
2d in our charts and forecasts for
ten years.
The annual tendency to elec-
trical and seismic disturbances
from about the tenth to near the
end of June will be increased
this month by the causes enumer-
ated aboye. At the Vulcan
storm period, central on the 13th
and covering the 9th to 16th, an
excess of lightning, with many
thunder squalls, solstice down
pours of rain in many limited
localities, with scattering tor-
nadic storms and seismic dis-
turbances. will be most natural
We caution our readers against
taking refuge from thunder
storms under trees and similar
places at this and all other
periods, especially in Jane.
There seems to be a maximum
• f lightning strokes among- tke
green, sappy trees during thi
moath. Heavy hail storms, aad
marked, sudden changes to very
ceoi, may be regarded as certain-
ties in many sections, especially
storms of rain, thunder and wind
will pass eastward. All through
this part of Juno there will be ati
abnormal tendenev to constant
and startling displays of light-
ning. As evening comes on
great banks and cones of summer
clouds, black, brassy, leaden and
snowy, will hang all round the
horizon, each point of the com-
pass being a regular magazine of
neryous lightning, far into, and
all through the nights.
Under the combined influences
of the Venus equinox and the
June solstice, thunder showers
and hail storms will most likely
repeat themselves for several
davs in succession, so that the
reactionary storms, beginning
about the I'Jtfa, will most prob-
ably run into the regular Yulcan
storm period covering the 22nd
to the 27th. This Yulcan period
which is central on the 24lh,
promises to be one of the most i
active, if not violent periods in
the month. Added to all otwer
disturbing causes before named
on the 23rd the planet Mercury
will pass between Earth and Sue,
only a few hours from the con-
junction of the planet Neptume
with Earth and Sun. We name
Monday the 23rd, to Friday the
27th. as a period of severe and
prolonged perturbations, during
which days the daily thunder
storms beginning about th« 20th
it- run t "arts of the country, will
reach their culminating stages in
many storms of rain, hail, wind
and thunder, oomeof the great-
est downpours of rain for the
summer, amounting to cloud-
buists in many quarters, may be
reasonably looked for at about
this time. Continued showers
with local water spouts probable
here and there, will entail great
inconvenience and loss upon
harvesters, while exposed struc-
tures and properties along uatrow
defiles and valleys are liable to
severe loss and damage. All
who may have such interests
under their management should
see that obstructions are not al-
lowed to accumulate and choke
up the outlets and conduits,
through which sudden torrents
must pass away.
Readers of the State Capital
will notice that Editor Greer
making a flimsy fight on W. M.
Cross, democratic candidate for
congress', by referring to him as a
"non-resident," a "story peddlin
drummer," a "Kansas hater. '
etc. Everybody, especially Mr.
Greer, knows better. 'Bill
Cross has been a bona fide resi-
dent of Oklahoma for seven
years; he is an honest man and a
conservative man; he couldn't
drink as much boose as D. T.
Flynn if he wanted to.
13ut tlid secret of Edtior Greers
personal attack on Cross lies
the fact that Greer himself has
long been an ardent advocate of
single statehood. We have seen
him as a prominent figure in
single statehood conventions,
heard him plead for the union of
the g-°nt twin territories in
aiutchoo.. and read bright and
convincing singk statehood edi-
torials in his Capital. Being an
honest advocate of the democrat-
ic platform. Mr. Greer turns his
mud machine on the charactei of
the democratic, candidate. That
is all he can do.—Yukon Sun.

Ok'ahoma City, O. T., June 2.
—"Bill" Cross, the democratic
nominee for congress, left here
this afternoon for Enid. Cross
will confer with W.M. Anderson,
chairman of the territorial com-
mittee, relative to the personnel
of the cajnpaign committee.
Cross has already picked his men,
but desires to secure Anderson's
conseut before the announcement
is made, so that there will be tio
sore spots after announcing the
names of the men constituting
the committee. Anderson is
slated as chairman ot the cam-
paign committee, but no secre-
tary has yet been determined up-
on. This situation eliminates
C. Porter Johnson, of this city,
who, it is said, Cross desired to
place in charge of his campaign
Owing- to the fight made upon
Johnson, it was decided that
Johnson as chairman would not
do. Johnson will be called upon
however, to stump the territory
for Cross, notwithstanding th
fight made upon him by demo-
crats when he was mentioned in
connection with the chairman-
ship of the campaign commit-
tee.

have his headquarters in this
city, and this is taken by some
to mean that the campaign com-
mittee will be located here alsb.
Certain Oklahoma City demo-
crats are insisting that if Cross
makes his headquarters here, the
campaign should be here, too,
and that the nominee should
have the say about such things.
It is not likely that the secre-
tary of the campaign committee
will be agreed upon before Sat-
urday. There are said to be
three men being considered, but
no names are mentioned for fear
of complicating matters more at
the present time. Verde Hard-
castle is said to be out of the
race for this position, and know-

didate for secretary, is not being
seriously considered.
Cross says that he will soon
begin a determined campaign in
the extreme western part of Ok-
lahoma, being absent from here
from two to three weeks at a
time. Cross says that his ma-
jority will reach from 15,000, to
