Tecumseh is strictly in the lead in so-
ciety; the first case of bloomers wero no-
ticed upon our streets and attracted con-
siderable attention until it was known
that the person insido of them was (Jus
Wright.
The trial of M. J. Parks for felonious
assault upon the person of Mrs. Mary
Thomas, occurred before the probate
judge last Monday. It resulted in Park's
being bound over to tho district court in
the sum of $250
Rev. Ira Hoi brook who used to be the
pastor of tho Congregational church
this city, but now of Stillwater, will short-
ly start on a lecture tour through tho
north. Rev. Hoi brook's many friends here
nre glad to know that ho is prospering.
We were shown by county treasurer
Martin last Saturday, some of as fine
peaches as we have ever seen in any
country. The peaches were raised on
Mr. Martin's farm in the north part of
the county and grew on three year old

couple of weeks.
This oflice received a pleasant call last
Tuesday from tho Misses Moore, Zeallitf
and Boydson, three charming young
ladies of Shawnee
T. M. Phaup and wife and Mrs. B. F.
Fream left Monday for Texas. Mr. and
Mrs. Phaup will be gone a week while
Mrs. Fream will visit several weeks.
E. C. Nichols, of Nichols and George,
hardware merchants, left Monday for an
extended trip for his health and business
to Texas, stopping over at Sulpher
Springs in the Chickasaw Nation.
Flor Ashbaugh, tho atttorney, left
Wednesday for his old home in Missouri.
Mr. Ashbaugh has been sick with fever
for a week or two but has never been
compelled to go to bed und remaiu.
Geo. II. Strain, a prominent farmer of
Earlborough, made this oflice a pleasant
call last Saturday. Mr. Stiuin reports

Mre, Henry Loop and brother Hurbert
llulsey and Mrs. S. S- Rains and children
and Miss Birdie Sllfo left Thursday for
Texas. They will drive through* with
buggy and wagon and will be gone about
a month.
John Galbreath and mother returned
Thursday from Iowa, where they went
with the remains of Will Galbreath, who
died in Arizona last month. There many
friends here sympathize with them in
the loss of so good a son and brother.
