FRANK STEVENS
Lawton, Okla , Aug. 3.—"McCalla
cannot win in the race for speaker-
ship of the secoad legislature, and
when ex-Speaker Murray, who may
seek to dictate to the members, dis-
covers this hifc second choice will be
William Murdoch of Pawnee, provld
ed, of course, both men are re-elect-
ed," said Frank Stevens, editor of the
Apache World and a member of the
first house of representatives.
Mr. Stevens is a candidate for re-
election, but will not be a candidate
for the speakership. "I was placed in
the race last fall by my friends," he
declared, "and did not enter of my
own accord. I do not believe that
Mr. Murray can control the second
legislature, and I predict that an anti
Murray man will preside over the
house."
