CARPETBAGGEES AND COONS.
The Enterprise declares that tho Ex-
aminer has gone into hysterics because
of the winning campaign tliat Mr. Hub-
bard, assisted by A. (I. Sango, one of
the blackest negroes in Indian Terri-
tory, is alleged to be putting up. The)
Examiner does not feel in the least | 1
hysterical, but it is amusing to note
how the editor of the Enterprise goes
up in the air whenever this paper sees
fit to mention what the ncgroe workers
are doing for their Republican friends.
Perhaps tho Enterprise is in a posi
tiou to deny that the niggers ruled the
roost in Wagoner Republican county
convention. Perhaps it will deny that
Ellis Childers, part Indian and part ne
gro, who has served two years in the
penitentiary for assisting in a deal to
swindle his own people out of .$*100,000,
acted as chairman of this convention!
Perhaps it is in a posilion to deny the
lact that two other niggers, so black
tlmtfcharcoal would make a white mark
upon their brutish faces, acted as sec-
retary and assistant secretary of this
supposed to-be white man's political
meeting.
If the Enterprise will really get the
facts about this Wagoner county in-
vention, it will discover that Judge
Mosher. who was imported from Iowa I
about eighteen months ago to take the
position of I nited States Commissioner
at that place, was a candidate before !
the convention for the nomination of
county judge. The majority of the j
delegates to this convention were no '
groes, and each delegation has its lead i
f r whose business it was to find out '
from what candidate they could get
"ie "inst /lioney for their votes. The j

Hi, Enterprise got its grape vine a
bit twisted last evening when in a
I special from Dewey it loeated the Dein-
: ocratic rally of Friday night in that
i enterprising little city. Thc Enterprise
i gave a detailed description of the meet-
ing and wound up witrf the declaration
that there wcro less than twenty-five
voters present, which might have pass
ed for the truth had it not been for the
fact that tho meeting was held at Ra
mona. The distance from Itaihona t'
Dewey is approximately twenty fiv.
miles, which is about as closo us tho En
terprise seems to be able to get to J

"Buck" Wallace, Democratic (
didate for county treasurer, is making
the raco without the aid of "mail or- [
der" endorsements. If you desire to
know anything about the honesty, in
tegrity and general fitness of thc Demo- j
cratic candidate for the position to j
which he aspires, ask your nearest
noighbor. That, however, will hardly
be necessary, for doubtless you know
all about him yourself. At any rate it
will not be necessary for you to write
to an3r one in New York or Massa-
ehussettes in order to satisfy yourself
that "Buck" Wallacc is all right.
Haskell's statement of his personal
attitude toward statewide prohibition
requires no explanation. Ho has a
right to his personal opinion and as he
does not attempt to bind the party or
influence the voter, his frank avowal
is making him friends. The question
is a moral and not a political one and
the attitude of the Democratic party
in putting it up to the people is
thoroughly Democratic, consistent an.l
unassailable.
