The Baptist Church wood frame building was located at the current day northwest corner of Birch and Biloxi streets. Later, the church was moved to the northwest corner of current day Birch and 1st streets (old Presbyterian Church). Then, funds were raised to build a brick building which still stands in 2024.
The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) is to collect, preserve, and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people. The OHS was founded on May 27, 1893, by members of the Territorial Press Association.
