Services at St. Stephen's church

The pupils of the Stony point
school in district 60 will give a pro-
gram in the school house Saturday
evening Dec. 23 in connection with
a Chrismas tree. A cordial invi-
tation is extended to all.
Stroud will vote Jan. 12 whether
the town shall have an $18,000
water works system and a $4,000
electric light plant. Stroud is an
enterprising town and will no doubt
vote for the improvements.
Mrs. Anna Sennett and daughter
of Illinois, arrived in Chandler last
Friday and are visiting at the home
of P. F. Sennett and family. From
here they will go to Snyder where
they will make their home.
The "Last Rose of Summer" com-
pany that played here Thursday
evening was a dandy. • It made a
lot of friends for tjie playing was
something that pleased everyone in
the crowd. Tatton can come back
to Chandler.
The News is in receipt of a let-
ter from L. B. Johnson, wno, with
his family, is living in Los Angeles,
Cal., amid the "sunshine and
flowers.' He thinks that the I
health of his family will be better
there, but says the cost of living is
much greater. 0

to conduct a department in his paper,
the Stroud Star, according to his
fancy. Editor Ward announces it in
this manner: "We are at home to
the man with a vindictive spirit
twenty-foul*hours of the day and he
is welcome to spring any action de-
sired on his part. It is a matter of
personal satisfaction to us to feel
that we are quite capable of coping
with such an emergency.
