PROBABLY the largest event for the week will be the dis-
trict meeting of the American Legion auxiliary, to be
held at Sawokla farm on Thursday, beginning at 10 o’clock
in the morning. Mrs. E. A. Eckstrom, president of the dis-
trict, will preside over the business session. Mrs. Annie W.
Gorman, president of the local unit, will have charge of the
program, in which Dr. Hugh Scott will make an address to
the members, as will also Commander J. E. Criswell of the
legion. At the noon hour, the local unit will treat the visiting
delegates to a chicken pie luncheon at Sawokla. Mrs. Wyatt
Barbee will have charge of a 45-minute musical program that
will begin at 2 o’clock. Immediately after the musical rendi-
tions a trip to the hospital will be enjoyed. Many out-of-
town delegates are expected to attend.
