THE SUMMER TERM OF THE COLLEGE.
The regular Summer Session of the College
is conducted for those who wish to take
work that will earn credit toward the bachelor’s
degree. A class will be organized in any of the
regularly catalogued subjects for which there is
a sufficient demand.
Students may confidently expect to secure the
work desired in the Departments of History,
Mathematics, English, German and Latin.
The course given will be treated as double ma-
jors: That is, students will take half as many
courses as during the regular college year, will
complete such course during the six weeks’ Sum-
mer Session, and will receive full credit for the
course completed.
In arranging the work for the summer courses
of the College, the following classes of persons
have been kept in mind:
1. High school teachers who wish to fit them-
selves for greater efficiency and at the same time
receive credit toward a bachelor’s degree.
2. Students of the Agricultural and Mechani-
cal College who wish to use the Summer School
to shorten their regular college courses.
In addition to the foregoing, the College calls
attention to the courses especially prepared for
High School Teachers.

A. & M. ALUMNI NOTES.
The Annual Alumni Banquet is
to be held on May 2pth at 6 o’clock.
Members of the Association are
looking forward in pleasant antici-
pation of this event, which each
year assumes greater proportions.
Last year the attendance was very
gratifying, and those who worked
and planned it felt repaid for their
efforts. Greater efforts are being
made this year, and plans are prac-
tically completed. Coming as the
banquet does, just at commence-
ment, the graduate is afforded an
opportunity to renew old college
friendships, to view again the old,
familiar scenes and to enjoy with
us the improvement and develop-
ment of the A. & M.
Graduates of the College may
obtain tickets for the Alumni Ban-
quet by addressing C. K. Bullen,
Stillwater, Oklahoma, and enclos-
ing two dollars for each ticket de-
sired. Plans must be completed
by May 2oth, and the committee
must know in advance just how
many will attend, and so no tickets
will be sold after that date.
Orpha Caton '09, who has charge

THE MAY FESTIVAL.
Elaborate preparations are under way for the
annual festival to occur May 9. This is the one
gala day in the College calendar. The ladies are
in full charge.
The annual College track and field meet was held
on Lewis Field April 22d. A large, cn' nusiastic
crowd of College and town people weie present,
and much class spirit was shown. The Juniors
won the cup again, and if they win it next year
it will be theirs permanently. The Juniors won a
total of 59 points, the Seniors 28, and the Sopho-
mores 35. Alfred Talbot T2 won the highest
number of points as the all-round athlete.
1 he Y. W. C. A. girls and many invited guests
spent Easter Sunday afternoon in the woods.
After the Easter service a delightful picnic lunch
was enjoyed by all. Special guests of the after-
noon were President and Mrs. Connell, i'rof. and
Mrs. Potts, Mr. Holler and Miss Cage.
The third annual Northeastern Oklahoma
Track and Field Meet will be held at Hie A. &
M. College May 6th. Although it is not known
definitely as yet how many high schools will be
represented, a great deal of interest is being
shown and a large crowd is expected.
The annual oratorical contest to select students
to represent the A. & M. College at the State
contest in Oklahoma City was held on April 24th.
Harold Albert and O. C. Griggs of the Sopho-
more class won the contest.
There has been some criticism of the number
of Agricultural Colleges maintained by the State
of Oklahoma. Denmark, less than one-fourth the
size of Oklahoma, has twenty-nine.—The King-
fisher (Oklahoma) Times.
A waste basket is one of a business man’s best
friends.—W. P. Warren.
