We trust those who are fortunate enough to
have wheat to sell at the extra high price will
remember to contribute to the meds of the
Home and the care of the homeless children.
Since all provisions have gone to such high
prices the cost of carrying on the work will be
more than it has been in the past,
A Sister in California whom we have never
met, but who has long read the Friend, has
made a monthly payment on the Home. It is
very encouraging to receive such evidence that
good people are m sympathy with the work.
Four children have found homes the first half
of February, ail in good homes This is good
for two weeks work, but this leaves us only one
child in the Home. But this is always a healthy
indication when many want children.
Never scare a child, or make it afraid of the
dark by telling it about “bogy man,” or any
thing else of the kind. To do this is a sin as
black as the darkness of the hight itself.
Bro. and Sister Isaac Harris of Illinois, with
a grown daughter and Walter, whom we gave to
them as a baby seven years ago, came to Enid
and will go into the Home and takechaige of
the children. _______________
The Golden Rule Sunday School class of
Thomas recently sent us a monthly payment on
the Home, which we appreciated very much.
Are there any other Golden Rule Sunday school
classes in Oklahoma, or others just as good.
Teddy, the nine months old boy, has now
found a home, where we believe he will be loved
and cared for as an own child should be, and lie
will have comforts and luxuries that many own
children do not have.
Not long ago when in Oklahoma City the Man-
ager went ont to see a little girl almost two
years of age, that we had not seen for a long
time.- She is a line girl and has eveiything a
child can need. It is a joy to call on such chil-
dren in such a home.
We have just lately found a good home for
Edna, and we all rejoiced when we realized that
a kind, affectionate, Christian family had opened
their heart and home to little Edna. A few
days later we were made glad to receive a few
lines from them expressing their appreciation
of her. This you will find in the Letter Box.
Don’t forget that 50 cents gets your name on
the subscription list of the Friend tor oneyeai.
The weeks slip by very quickly when a papei
is to be printed and mailed by a cei tain date
every month.
Ralph, a tine little boy not yet a year old, who
has found a home a hundred miles from here,
was adopted in January. He is a happy child.
Our receipts for January were unusually
light, and they have not been very good for the
first half of February. Unless the work will be
remembered more liberally we will be in debt
by the first of March.
We recently received a two-yea rs subscrip
tion from a Sister in Philadelphia. A ,\eai oi
more ago she sent us a good donation. We are
always glad to have the work recognized by the
