House Bill Giving

Bond Proposition in
Sum of $25000000

M-Jiu in French enriched anv on's
mind.
Johnson os.irtort tho bill was In linn
with the tendency to forgrt tho war
find hp warned against such forget-
ting "The German people still think
they will crush the world." he de-
clared. "I know from my talks with
Ormnn prisoners. They have toM
me. 'Von will fnri.t in n few years.'
And if we do forget they will carry
mil their hope and rrush us." Jolin-
fon snid he had helped capture I rait-
ur in hU own company and found
them nit of CJerman extraction and all
able to speak German. "I tun suspl-
' ious of anyone" he said "who speaks
the German languase fluently."
Senator Luther Harrison an oppo-
nent of the repealing measure told
the senate that persons who were sui-
pected of disloyalty during the war
are lobbying for the bill. He offered
an amendment to strike out Section
! of the bill. This would have tho
effect of killing the measure plnce
Section 1 N the section repealing the
present low.
When the discussion had reached
this point sttenllon was called to the
fact that several senators still had
views on the bill which they appar-
ently desired to make public and It
was nearly (i o'clock. So the senate
adjourned without voting on either the
Harrison amendment or the bill. It
is presumed the debate will be re-
sumed today.
A clo.e second to this argument in
point of. Intensity was ttyt over n
proposed appropriation of some $7000.
it was another of tho appropriations
that might be loosely classed as a de-
ficiency and the srime old fight was
on again. And In this case the sen-
ate balked and refused to vote the
appropriation. The claim was for the
Pinner Construction Company for the
erection of biirrtcks nt the Oklahoma
Military Academy at Claremore. It
appears the seventh legislature appro-
priated $75000 for construction nnd
equipment and $80000 for mainte-
nance and minor Improvements. All
of the money for construction and
equipment was. spent before the claim
of the contractor was satisfied; It
n.is therefore put up to the legislature
to pay the construction company what
wan due. When the bill came up for
advancement Tuesday Dill Eriggs ot
Woodward asked Davidson chairman
of the appropriations committee if this
wasn't tho same old story of a state
agency spending more money than
wan appropriated for It and Davidson
answered in the affirmative. Brlfjgs
attacked the bill again yesterday on
the ground he objected to the prin-
ciple of exceeding appropriations.
Rutherford also fought it. He uaid
by his antagonism to tho school and
clencies and thut was to deny them.
David son argued this was a legal claim
ond a Just one it was not the fault
of the construction company If there
was no money left when it came time
to revive its payment. Davidson ac-
cused Rutherford of being prejudiced
by his antagonism to the school ond
mentioned that Rutherford had voted
to appropriate two millions for farm-
ers' warehouses. Rutherford explained
he was willing to help the farmers
aud their children that was one of
the ways the state ought to spend Its
money. There are many legitimate
demaQd on the slate for money he
said that there won't be ' enough
money to go uround and such claims
ms the appropriation in question should
wait until the state haa recuperated
financially.
The vote on the passage of the bill
was IS to 18; the bill was declared
to have failed of passage. Davidson
lodged a motion to reconsider the vote.
Democrats who voted against the ap-
propriation were:IIlll llentilry Flem-
ing Coyne Rutherford Spurlock
West and Harrison. Practically all
the Republicans present voted against
It except K. K. Woods who lives at
Claremore.
An appropriation of $20000 to aid
the negro schools of Oklahoma was
passed with the emergency clause by
the senate. A bill making the salar-
ies of county commissioners of Creek
county $3600 a year was passed.
'Likewise an amendment to the wid-
ows' pension law which makes it
necessary for a beneficiary to have
lived In the state only one year In-
stead of two. And an amendment to
the road law providing that persons
who wish exemption from personal
road work must pay $10 a year in-
stead of $5.
Measures designed to relieve the
congestion of the supreme court
docket are set for special order In
the senate Friday afternoon. One of
these. Senate Bill 160 would provide
additional references. Tho other Sen-
ate Bill 95 would create a court of
civil appeals in three divisions.
The house yesterday was occupied
most of the time with bills on third
reading and final passage. Among
those passed was the registration
bill which was rushed through the
amending stage by house Republi-
cans last week. The vote on the
final passage was practically a party
vote- Republicans for it and Demo-
crats against. The house also passed
the bill yesterday providing for elec-
tion contests; this bill was Introduced
by Representative Drake of Wagoner
county who contested and won the
seat of T. A. Parkinson Democrat In
the present house.
The house resolution calling for 100
beds for soldiers In the university
hospital came up yesterday and was
amended on motion of 8. D. Railey
Republican to read U'5 beds; It was
passed In the amended form. It In
understood the hospital Is already pre-
pared to care for 100 soldiers.
Senator Charles Wells of Shawnee
yesterday Introduced a bill which
would require physical examination
before marriage. No marriage license
would be Issued until certificates had
been presented showing the pros-
pestive bride and groom wern free
from tuberculosis syphilis and fon-
norrhea. The bill also requires 1!0
days published notice of Intention to
marry before application Is made for
a marriage license. Violation of the
proposed law would be a misde-
meanor. A house bill by Charles C. Piatt
Payno county Republican would regu-
late Sunday activities by banning
servile labor trades manufactures
mechanical employment wholesaling
and retailing of goods for mere profit
shooting or hunting game racing
dancing playing games where fees
or gain are the consideration and
picture shows which Incite to law-
leanness. The house yesterday very calmnly
adopted the repoit of the investigat-
ing committee recommending impem h-
ment proceedings against M. R. Trapn
lieutetiant-governur. . R. 11. Matthews
of Pittsburg county chairman of ttie
investigating committee moved there-
port be adopted. Speaker Schwabe
put the question and eave lim for
discudrton. But no one appeared to
wish to debate the matter. The vote
was viva vye and the only "noes"

H. Brown. Sherman and Brown are
Republicans; the other members of
the committee are Democrat. The

would permit court clerks to tie the

Cghting a war on film. Film is that
viscous coat you feel. It dings to

most tooth trouble-are now traced to
it
Those voubles have been constantly
increasing. The ordinary tooth paste
dix"i not end film so the tooth brush
lias proved inadequate. Millions know
how well-brushed teeth have discolored
and- decayed
It is the filra-coat that discolors not
the teeth. Film is the basis of tartar.
It holds food substance which ferments
and forms acid. It holds the add in
contact with the teeth to cause decay.
Millions of germs breed in it. They
with tartar art the chief cause of pyor-
rhea. And despite all brushing few
escape these troubles caused by film.
New ways to fight it
Now dental science has found -ways
to fight film day by day. Able author-
ities have proved the methods efficient.
Leading dentists everywhere now urge

One- ingredient is pepsin. Another
multiplies the starch digestant in the
saliva to digest starch deposits that
cling. The alkalinity of the saliva ii
multiplied also and at once. That is
to neutralize jnouth-addswhich cause

Two factors directly- attatlcthe film.
One of them keeps teeth so highly pol-iahedtbat-filrn
