that labor was out of the question tj
develop a farm or to market timber;
that It cost him $'0 an acre to clear
lands that ought to ba put in a state

could be drained nicely in dry weather
hut during the rainy seasons he would

with life preservers and as it was u
tedious Job to teach the litle igs and
lambs to use these he abandoned the
idea ot developing a big farm in the
bottom of the Mississippi returned to
Ardmore to make this a permanent
headquarters. His first work will be to
go to Sulphur to take the baths for
mosquito bites and after his recovery
he will be back here to play at the oil
game. Colonel Adkins has done well In
oil investments in both Oklahoma and
Texas. He has the respect and con-
fidence of every man who has ever
dealt with him and he lives in the
affection of hundreds of producers who
know him intimately. Ardmore will be
glad ho is here he is progressive and
will be a factor in oil development In
this country- He has disposed of all
his water rights and his mosquito
ranch in Missouri and will make Invest-

good friends.

The sands are thi'k they produce
naturally meaning that no shots hae

evidence of being a field that will

are protecting the field from water

the drilling of wells.
The field has not produced enough
gas to be used as fuel for the drill-

The field l amply provided with
pipe line capacity no producers un-
forced to buy steel storage as a
market is provided every day for
the full capacity of the wells.
Oil is found at different depths
rallying from 1.300 to 2500 feet and
some of the producers are drilling
what are called twin wells and pro-
ducing oil from the different sands
With the large numbf-r of strings of
tools in operation it is very probable
that within the second year of the
field the production will go to 100000
barrels a day.
