tinental Congress adepted a reso-
lution directing the flag commit-
tee, of which General George
Washington was chairman, to con-
struct the national flag with thir-
teen red and white stripes with a
blue field and a white star for eaob
of the thirteen states.
John Kerr of Yale was a caller
at this office Tueeday and be in
forms us that he has made a trade
for H. E. Redding, trading his
store here for a farm. W. T. Can-
field is the man who gets ths stock
of goods, and ths farm that Red.
ding gets is known as ths Charley

are informed, will be taken to Yale

Reports to the state board of ag-
cnltnre from 75 to 77 countiee give
the average condition of wheat for
Msy 25 as 52 per cent, compared
to 65 per cent last month and 82
per ceut a year ago. Chinch buga
and green bugs are reported in A-
dair, Mayes, Marshall, Kiowa,
Rogers, Johnston, Ottaws, Grsnt,
Jackson and Garfisld countiee.
The condition of oata is 53 per
cent aa opposed to 83.4 s year ago,
alfalfa 64 per cent aa againat 88.6
a month ago and 73.8 a year ago.
The cotton acreage aa shown by
rsports from 56 oountiss isgrsatsr
by 27 psr cent then last year. The
growing oundition of ootton is 82.5
per oent as oompared with 85.2 of
