Rules For Cotton Contest
The following are the rules that gov-
ern tbe coming conteat as given by the
. .8- Agriculture Bureau Plant
Industry Partners' Co operative Demon
stratlon Work:
Rule 1—This contest is open to any fclrl
or boy in Oklahoma between the ages
of nine and eighteen years.
Rule 8—A boy or girlto compete in this
contest must comply with all the rules
of the U. 8. Dept. of Agriculture gov
erning this contest
Rule 8—A boy or girl entering this con-
test must agree to raid the insttuct
ions of tbe U. 8. Dept. of Agiiculture
and follow tbera as marly as possible
Rule 4—The contestants must plan his
own crop and ao fa as poe-lblc do his
own work A written statement will
be required of each contestant showing
what help, if auy, be had in planuing
and growing the crop.
Rule H—Each contestant must gtow not
less tban two acrea of cotton. How-
ever a contestant will not bt barred, if
fifteen hundred pound* or more of *eed
cotton is grown on less than two acres.
Ru'e 6 Each final report must be ac
conipanied by a certificate .-igued bv
tbe contestant and at least two disln
terested wiineHses showing (a) tbe a-
mouot of yield, (b) th.- exaet measure-
inent of the land, (c) that tbe crop wsa
grown in accordance with the rulea of
this contest.
Rule 7— In awarding prizes the follow
ing bdsis shall be followed:
(a) greatest yield of need cotton—80
points, (b) best written account of
growing tbe crop—15 points, (c) best
showing on net profit of. the crop—25
points, (d) best exhibit of cotton tp
consist of (a) one plant—10 pointa,
(b) two pounds of seed cotton—10
points, (c) twelve bowls of cotton—10
points, totai score for the contest—
100 points.
Note—Under (c), in estimating the
profits tbe following prices shall be used:
•5.00 per acre for rent of average land.

Rule 8—(a) local, eountv, or district
contests may be held at such times and
places as tbe local authoritees may de
term ine.
(b) the contest for awarding the 8'ate
premium shall be held st the State Fair
to be held at Oklahoma City, 8ept 27
to Oct. 7, 1011.
Note—Tbe awards in the State Contest
shall not be made until final reports
are received as provided in rule 9.
Rule 9—Final reports shall be mailed on
or before December 1, 1911 to W. D.
Bently, State Agent at Yukon, Okla.
