The Entertainment
The second number on the lec-
ture course was a fine entertain-
ment. James R. Barkley, the car-
toonist and clay modeler, certainly
made good anc1 the audience was
well pleased. The next number
will be Prof Louis Williams, scien-
tific demonstrator or intellectual
magician. Tuesday evening De-
cember 15.
The Deacon
A home talent play "The Dea-
con" will be produced at the opera
house Saturday evening, Dec. 12;
proceeds to go to the Catholic
church. Following is cast of char-
acters and synopsis of incidents.

The marriage of Earl McDowell
and MissTresa Vogt was solenuzed
Sunday at u o'clock; Rev. Wayne
Mettler, pastor of the M.K.church,
of this city officiating. The cere
mony took place at the home of
the brides parents, Mr.and Mrs. P.
J. Vogt at C rtis, in the presence
of about seventy guests—friends
and relatives of the bride and
groom.
Immediately after the ceremony
a sumptions wedding dinner was
served, and the remainder of the
day was spent in such enjoyment
as usualy are entered on such occa-
sions.
Those present were: The par-
ents and brothers and s:slers of the
bride and groom, M. H.Lyden and
family, John Bouquot and family,
Lou Bouquot and family, F. J.
Knittel and wife, Mrs. Julia Kort-
zenborn; Annie Bouquot; Frank
Knittel and family, Jess Wyckoff
and family, Frank Vogt and family
Lou Dugger and wife, Geo. Hotz

The bride is one of the popular
young ladies of Curtis and has
many friends all over this vicinity,
her parents being among the first
settlers in this country.
The groom is a well known and
respected young man, and has
resided with his parents 011 the
farm northeast of this city. He
is steady and temperate and his
many friends wish Mr. and Mrs.
McDowell the success their char-
acter merits.
The Leader joins in wishing
the young people all the good
things of life.
