Concerning the death of Henry Ing-
am, the boy who was found dead on the
prairie, one aud one-half miles eaat of
Gate City about three weeks ago, we
have received the following information;
In company with Mill (iranger, he
was over in the Cheroke Strip culling
cedar posts, sbout fifteen miles from
G*te. Two day* before the snow dorm,
about the middle of February, their
stuck of provisions became exhausted,
and Grainger went to Gale City for sup-
plies, lesving the boy st camp with no
tent, nothing to est, and but little it suy
bedding. The severe alortu came on the
aecond night, and Grsngcr remained at
hi* home uear Gate City, and the boy
waa left to suffer his fats, lie evidently
attempted to reach Gste City on fuot
through the snow, but when reaching so
nearahelter, hia Mtrcugth and endurance
failed him aud he wa* fouud several
days afterward a frosen c< rpse.
