Mooreland has always been the
best and most accessible market
for farm products of any town
south of Alva, until by means of
the Farmers Federation the other
buyers, in order to secure the stuff,
were compelled to bid all the grain
was worth, otherwise it would be
bought and shipped by the Feder-
ation. As Mooreland was without
an organization of this kiud we
did not get as much wheat ai we
should have had marketed here.

Farmers Federation Organized
Last Saturday evening about
fifty farmers met at the lodge room
and organized The Farmers Fed
eration of Mooreland, Okla.
The meeting was a very enthu-
siastic one and after speeches and
information by Mr. McFadin and
Mr. Dunshee, of Quinlan, the
farmers readily took hold.
Mr. McFadin was elected tem-
porary chairman and immediately
the following officers were elected
to look after the business of the
organization:
President, John T. Davis.
Vice-Pres., Oiner Schnoebelcn.
Secretary, J. A. Wyckoff.
Treasurer, John Arnold.
Directors, R. E. Hilbig, W. C.
Tripplettt, W. H. Lintner, Lew
Ludden and C. L. Lambert.
The farmers of this vicinity have
been receiving for their products
just what the middle-man wanted
to pay and at Alva and Quinlan,
where there is a farmers organiza-
tion, wheat has been bringing from
5 to 10 cents more on the bushel
than it has at this place, and the
farmers in organizing the Federa-
tion will realize thousands of dol-
lars in a sliort time. This should
have been done long ago but as it
is this is the best move the farmers
of this vicinity hare ever made.
The Federation buyers will get
bids for the products the same as
other company buyers and if (he
