this expense, but it is no more than
I strict business judgement to do so.
! Tin's same rule is adhered to in all
j four of our institutions; The First
| National, Alva: The Bank of In
jgersol; The Waynoka State Batik,
and the First National of Wood-
I ward. The combined resources of
these four banks equal that of all
l the other banks in Woodward,Bea-
ver, Day and Dewey counties com-
bined. Perhaps you may
some surplus money this fall which
you will desire to place in a safe
depository. You will find some
banks willing to pay you a very
high rate of interest' for it. We
pay only a reasonable per cent for
two reasons—ist, we should be
compelled to charge borrowers a
heavier rate of interest and 2d, a
high rate of interest usually indi-
cates a weak bank does not get the
business of the safest borrowers.
You can readily understand that a
bank in an unsafe and unhealthy
condition must pay a heavyinterest
when a sound institution does not
find it necessary to do so. Kindly
keep us in mind when desiring
banking accomodation, and we will
try to please you; always remem-
bering that a regular depositor re-
ceives attentions and favors that
another cannot. Very respectfully
yours. L. L. Stine, Cashier.
