mer German steamers seized by the
government of Uruguay have been
chartered to the United States add-
ing 62000 tons to the merchan ma-

Charles Potts second lieutenant.

IS EXPELLED FROM
HUN HOUSE OF LORDS
Washington July 15. A dispatch
from Switzerland todays say the
Prussian house of lords after a se-
ries of secret sittings which lasted
several days has decided to expel
Prince Lichnowsky the former Ger-
man ambassador to England.
The prince's recently published
meniuirs. giving bis experiences in
London before and at the outbreak
of the uar asserted that the war
was cau.-ed 1 the German war
party and could have been averted.
His revelations caused a sensation
in Germany and for a time it was
believed that he hail been arrest
by the imperial government. He
ha lately been in Switzerland and
has- reiterated his statements. It
was sail the kaiser had intervened

ed in ink thereon and must be
filed by five o'clock P. M. of Juiy
17th 1918. and accompanied by a
certified check on some bank in
Ardmore Oklahoma payable to
said City Clerk in the sum of Two
Hundred and Fifty ($250.00) Dol-
lars. The successful bidder shall
give a construction bond condi-
tioned in terms of the law and also
a maintenance bond conditioned
that he will keep said street in
good repair for a period of five
(5) years from the date of ac-
ceptance of same and each bond
shall be in the sum of thirty per
cent of the amount of the contract
price and shall run in favor of the
City of Ardmore Oklahoma. Ail
bonds shall be approved by the
Board of Commissioners of said
City by appropriate resolution to
be approved by the Mayor.
Such bids will be opened and con-
sidered by the Board of Commis-
sioners at eight o'clock P. M. on
the 23rd day of July 1918 at the
Session Chambers ot said Board
and the contract will then be let
to the lowest and best bidder who

improvements and furnish said
materials in accordance with such
plans and specifications of said
City Engineer. No bids will be j

plate the completion of the entire :
improvement and the payment of.
all incidental expenses attached
to the City Engineer's estimate.
Compensation shall be made in
Street Improvement Bonds at par
issued and secured as provided by-
law. Any property owner may
pay in cash his assessment and the
City reserves the riKht to pay part
rah. and part in bonds for such
improvements. The City also re-
serves the right to cll said bonds
and pay all in cash for such im-
