It was remarkable that while the lit-

were not nearly as enthusiastic as they
were when the Italian came around
wi 'i his organ. The boys, or the other

biff horns, formed in scried columns,
four or five strong, and strutted up and
down or , Ise swaggered singly about

in an altitude of dignified superiority
when the trivial feminine element
danced to the rippling- allegro of tho

the leader looks nt ♦he windows right

of stopping until lie conies to Spruckel-

instrument into position.
It inust have been the mugic of the
T-ti tonic name that induced the leader
to stop and try the effect of "leh Li. be

iorau's place without faltering, and
llalloran's place is a palac, k,
| "Spruck's," inside and out. At some
j time or another Spruckclincvt r must
have been seized with a brief decorative
fever, for in front of the dingy curtain
screening one of the windows is a lith-
ograph of an inebriated goat capering
on top of a barrel, stained and spotted
with age and the visitations of Hies.
There is also a dusty plaster cast of a

at a neighboring society hall two years
before. The other window is bare of
adortimet<although above the curtain
the chandelier holding the two kerosene
lamps can be seen wrapped about with
red, white and blue paper frilling.
It is evidently a poor day for musical
art. The band plays "l)ie Wacht am
Klicin," and certainly that ought to
bring out every (ieruiuu susceptible to
sentimental recollections, but the sa-
loon is unresponsive. Mrs. Schult/e is
pattering about in her back yard, but if
she hears the band she makes no sigu.
She is not a sentimental woman, how*
in spite of her fat, and her mild,;

speculation. It is quite probable that

Dear Sir or Madami ,
If you judiciously plhee 7ouf otdor for a plnno or en
organ ehen buying, it will not be nesoasary for you to make a second pur«
chase vithin a generation: therefore the soloction of an instrument is a
matter of great moment to you. Naturally everyone deeiros to cet the best
value for his aoney, but aere consideration of price alone, elthout regard
to quality, becoo.cs a loss oftenor than a benefit. Ilonce, quality is the
first thing co be desired.
The Kimball pianos and organ# represent the highesi stand-
ard of excellence (or quality), as is proven by Indorsements of the
large schools ond colleges, the greatest artists of Eyrope end America,
and hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of other purchasers.
No instruments have received higher evards, br more unstinted
praise than the Kimball.
The Kimball factories are the lorgeet In tho worT3, and sell
nearly one-fifth of tho annual product of this country, including foreign
importation. By reason of their enormous capital, facilities and output,
the Kimball Company artf eble to make and sell instruments at a profit for
leas than any other factory can produce the oarae quality of instruments,
to represent a continuous business in the southwest cf forty*
eeven years standing, ond are factory ware rooms for the Kimball lnstru*
sents. If you buy of us you obtolri all the advantages of purchasing
direst from the greatest factory in existence, ond at the eame time con«
fine your dealings at hone, thus obtaining every poosiole advantage.
