—Burglars are having their
away on the prairie. Homes arc
not safe unless some one is with
them all the time.Laat week a bur-
glar came to George NidWler s
house and told George that the
•attle were in his field, whereupon
Mr. Nidifler lelt the house and
went to see about the cattle J but
lo! he found no cattle, and soon
returned. It was then getting
about dark, and Ihe burglar again I
called out to him that there were
cattle in bis field. But the burglar
foiled in bis second attempt, as
Mr. Nidiffer soon returned, only
to find him peeping in al the win-
dows, probably to ascertain the
best means lo go through the
bouse. Being thus baffled in his
attempt, he fled. Other cases of
aimilar circumstances have been
reported. One burglar came to
the bouse ol Marian lMialer a few
days ago, while no one was at
home, and took a silver watch and
a revolver. Tie also went to the
home of Mr. Blower while the
family were absent, and changed
his old hat for a new one. Uter
tboy wont to Lafayotte Judge's
residence during the absence of
the family, n.i ransacked the
house, but took nothing of impor-
tance. It is reported that the bur- j
glars wont inlo a house on Honey
Creek and took **7.50 i ■"<>
horse belonging lo Jeff Muskrnt.
Today we heard that Mr. Musk-
rat fonnd his horse aear Seneca.
Mo. The horse had a new saddle
on him. and a uew gnu fastened to
it. The gun waa ntolen at Banaoa,
and has since been returned to its
owner. It is thought that the
hore. had gotten away from the
thief and was on the wsy borne
when found b> tho pursuers. Let

TK"re are thousands of these
