DON'TS.
Don't condemn tin* labor movement
because you know of "objectionable
features." Every human Institution
has some Imperfections.
Don't forget that organisation in-
creases wanes and shortens the work-
Ins day, making work steadier
Don't "wait for the others" to join.
They are waiting for you. Be a leader j
not u follower
Don't forget that the more bitterly
the employer opposes labor unions,
the more the employe should support
them. There's a financial reason why.
Don't shirk the moral obligation to
do all you can to uphold the dignity
of your trade—to elevate the stand
ard of living.
Don't he blind to your own Interests.
Unionism helps all worklngmen and
all society.
Don't retard our progress by remain-
Inn a weapon in the hands of the em-
ployer.
Don't forget that our Interests are
Identical. Improvement In your work-
ing condition means Improvement foi
all our craft.
Organised labor was quick to realist
the importance of a substantial con
nectlon between Galveston and the
mainland. Therefore when asked some
of our best material was sent by the
labor council to represent us before
the railroad commission at Austin.
