The readers of this paper will be
pleased to learn that there Is at least
one dreaded disease that science has
been able to cure In all its stages and
that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure
is the only positive cure now known
to the medical fraternity. Catarrh be-
ing a constitutional disease requires
a constitutional treatment. Halls Ca-
tarrh Cure is taken internally acting
directly upon the blood and mucous
surfaces of the system thereby de-
stroying the foundation of the disease
and giving the patient strength by
building up the constitution and assist-
ing nature in doing its work. The pro-
prietors have so much faith in its cura-
tive powers that they offer One Hun-
dred Dollars for any case that it fails
to cure. Send for list of testimonials.

WOODFORD
Woodford. Okla.. May 10. We liuve
been having some very heavy rains
the last two weeks which almost
reached the proportions of cloud-
bursts. All creaks and streams have
been higher than before in twenty
years. The hail did considerable
damage to corn and cotton that was
up.
(Wheat and oats are looking very
bad. In places they are drowned
out. Very little cotton has been
planted and very little to be plant-
ed. The cotton acreage through this
community will be cut at least 40 per
cent short of last year.

POOLEVILLE SCHOOL NOTES
I'oolevllle Okla. May 10. School
will close on Friday having extended
one month beyond the original con-
tract or rather school would close
then were It not for the eighth grade
examinations to he held on that day.
Our principal feels that those pupils
who were not ready at the last exami-
nation should have their chance and
so she will hold examinations on
Thursday and Friday anil have the
dosing exercises on Monday and Tues-
day. A program will be given by the
school on Monday evening and on
Tuesday evening a play "Tatters"
will be presented by the advanced pu-
pils. Such a lovely time we have had to-
gether that Mrs. Herbert and Miss
Clare have about decided to cast their
lots with the Poolevllle people for an-
other year and take the school again.
On Thursday quite a storm struck
I'ooleville. The school is on an ele-
vation ami the few who had braved
the elements saw tin- panes twisted
from the windows and rain blown all
over I Ik- house. They also saw great
limbs of forest trees twisted from the
trees hut all were calm ami no one
was hurt.
Around I'ooleville' a number ol
houses w ere blown down one occti
pied by Mr. Admire and family being
completely demolished and il seems
a miralce that no one was injured
In I'ooleville several trees were up-
rooted and a great damage done to
the roof of Dr. Hat haw ay's home
while the damage to the chieken
industry all over the country cannot
be estimated however since all lives
were spared everyone is thankful.
Two excitements in a week for a
little hamlet like this Is rare hut the
storm was the socond the first being
oil. News reached town on Wed
nesday that oil had been struck five
miles out and all day autos were
whizzing by. Max .Westheimer of
Ardmore visited the fields as did
many strangers. The report Is that
the well produces between 100 and
L'OO barrels a day. A geologist from
Oklahoma City who visited the fields
with .1. J. I'.'avos gives it as his opin-
ion that this well is at the edge of a
great field and wants to secure loo
acres to test out the field with.
Messrs. Hen Stevens and Kaves
weiv visitors to I'ooleville last week.
K. K. Poole suffered great anxiety of
mind over the welfare of his family
who reside at Ardmore. especially al-
ter the rumor grew that th third
ward had been wrecked. Mr. Poole
has two sons in that school but
after some time he succeeded In
reaching Mrs. Poole over the phone
and hearing a correct report.
Helen Herbert who Is attending ('.
I. A. in Denton Texas has been quite
lucky. So many apply for rooms In
the school that it Is impossible to ac-
commodate all for this reason It Is
the policy of the school to let the
girls draw for rooms in the Methodist
dormitory and Helen drew l.'i. How-
ever wihile this entitles her to a
great reduction in rates for next year
in this fine institution the beautiful
part of ti Is that it places her under
the care of the woman to whose in-
fluence and care during his early
years Calvin Herbert owes so much
Mrs. F. It. Carroll.
Miss Clare Herbert will spend a
few days with Ardmore friends and
relatives before going to Denton
where she will join Helen and both
will take a summer course offered
by C. I. A.
Miss Lizzie Asliton who went to the
deathbed of her grand-mother. Mrs.

now returning. She has visited rel-

Clarence Harris left this afternoon
for Ardmore where he has accepted a
position in tile clerk's office. Al-
though we are pleased at any suc-
cess that may come his way we can
hut feel sad at losing such a younig
man from our midst. Mr. Harris has
grown to young manhood in I'oole-
ville and he enjoys an enviable repu-
tation for truth honor and worth. For
a long time he has liad charge of Mr.
K. It. Poole's store and has won the
friendship of all by his courtesy and
fair treatment. The I'ooleville pupils
one ami all wish him every success
in life.
FOR ACID STOMACHS
USE MAGNESIA
The almost universal use of magne-
sia by physicians and specialists In
the treatment of stomach troubles is
due to the fact that It stops food fer-
mentation and neutralizes the acid
the direct cause of nearly all stomach
troubles. Of the many forms of mag-
nesia such as oxides citrates carbon-
ales sulphates etc. the most suitable
and .efficient and the one prescribed
by leading specialists is bisurated mag-
nesia a teaspoouful of which In a lit-
tle warm water Immediately after
eating will Instantly neutralize the
acid stop fermentation and thus en-
sure painless normal digestion. Care
should be taken to get bisurated mag-
nesia as its action is infinitely more
effective. It is also by the way usual-
ly stocked by druggists in convenient
complessed tablet as well as In the
ordinary powder form. Stomach suf-
ferers and dyspeptics who follow this
plan and avoid the use of pepsin char-
coal soda mints drugs and medicine
are invariably astonished to find that
the stomach relieved of the Irritating
acid and gas soon regains its normal
tone and can do Its work alone with-
out doubtful aid of artificial dlgest-
ants. Bomar Drug Co. T. N. Coleman
