time when thoughtful men are turn-

to draw. All of this anc more ton
is by nature as well as inheritance
folded amid the sifts of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is not what it ought
to be from the fact that it has
not. had the chance it aught to
have had. Oklahoma has been ad-
vertiso.l in various ways but like
Arkansas the ways have not lavvays
be -a the best ways. Arkansas is
the best advertised state In the

been disastrous to Arkansas. The

These are hurtful things bringing
no good to any but harm to many.
Oklahoma has not waged to the
front at the hands of the fool auth-

light of fame born and swaddled in
rotten poetr the gift of a rate;:
author and fostertd by a rotten
constituency. Hut Oklahoma vaged
her wav into statehood through trails
of blood and is still waging her
way into maturity can fully guard-

band of the most notorious grafters
known to civilization since Hie days
of arpct-bag government. l!;:t things-
are g'tiing better in Oklahoma. The
unsettled are becoming setiled. The
unstaid are 'joIur replaced by the
staid and it is no longer an ex-

Atvlmoro was on the map. hut that
is all I knew about it. There are
lots of other folks in the same shap
I had no Idea that Ardmore was sit-
uated in one of the best agricultural
belts of the southwest nor had I any
idea that it was a city of civic
beauty. Ardmore is yet in its in-
fancy she has scarcely shed her
swaddling clothes yet Ardmore is a
city of some ten thousand souls and
were it well known it would soon
be twenty thousand. 1 ooay it is a
city of varied and various enterprises
populated with a fine hinh-toned
thoughtful christian citizenship. Her
public buildings rank among the best.
Her church edifices are gems of love
her school buildings the handiwork of
men of great minds and far-reaching
foresight who propose to make of
the rising generation the v ry b st
of men and women. Her court hou-'-o
is a gem of architectural beauty abd
would with ease grace a city oi ten
times the population and siu with
pride beside the municipal buildings
of our great cities. Her nanus ate
institutions wilh strong capital and
well manage '1. Their deposits speak
volumes for the wealth of the coun-
try. Her people- are among the besi.
Hir women rank among the lovelies.
There is love beauty friendship fel-
lowship and eral brains all blend-d
in mighty harmony and wreathed
into loving gracef.ul womanhood are
the mothers and daughters of Anl-
moro. Let this. Oh! let this be
known to the world and ask tie'
world's best to come this way. for
Ardmore is by nature and by struc-
ture good enough for the worM's
best. That the country at large might
know of this is tlii desire of (he
