Notice is hereby given that in pur
suance of resolutions adopted by the
mayor and councilmen of the City of
Norman, Oklahoma, on the 14th day
of December, 1909, sealed proposals
by contractors will be received at the
office of the city clerk of -aid city
until 8 o'clock p. in., January 25flu
1910, for furnishing the materials and
for performing the work necessary
iu doing the necessary grading, build-
ing the necessary manholes and catch
basins, laying the necessary drainage
tile and curb and gutter and by pav-
ing with rock asphalt or brick as
hereinafter set forth, upon a five inch
concrete base, all in accordance with
the plans and specifications on file in
the office of the city engineer and
adopted by the mayor and council, up
on the portions of the hereinafter
named and described streets, avenues
and alleys of said city. Each said pr

Each proposal must be accompani-
ed by a certified check for two thous-
and dollars ($2,000) payable to the
City of Norman and certified by a
bank in said city.
The successful bidder will be re-
quired to execute to the City of Nor-
man a construction bond in a sum
approximately equal to 30 per cent of
the contract price, conditioned for the
full and faithful performance of the
contract as provided by law, and will
be required to execute to said city for
•ach said district a bond in a sum ap-
proximately equal to twenty per cent
(20 per cent) of the whole bid, con-
ditioned for the maintainence in good
condition of said pavement, curb,
gutters, drains, manholes, and catch
basins shall be such that the same
jhall be maintained in good condition
for a period of five years from its ac-
ceptance by the council.
Each bidder shall state in his pro-
posal ihe number of working days in
which he will undertake the comple-
tion of the contract. Bidders are in-
vited to file with their proposals a
statement of their experience in street
paving, and a showing of their finan-
cial ability to perform the contract.
Proposals so received will be open-
ed and considered by the mayor and
city councilinen of said city at a
meeting to be held at the city hall of
said city at 7:30 o'clock p. m., Janu-
ary 25th, 1910, and the contract will
be awarded to the lowest and best
bidder thereunder, consideration being
given to the quality of the proposed
paving material, the time in which the
bidder agrees to complete the con-
tract, as well as the prices offered in
each said proposal, and the mayor
and councilmen reserve thc right to
reject any and all bids.
