New 3,000 H. P. Engine
CiVenth Mammoth Boileis
The above Cut Shows increased capacity of our E'ectric Equipment
The new 3,000 horse power engine; a very recent addition to our plant, is a cross compound condensing engine
built by the Allis-Chalmers Co., of Milwaukee, and weighs in place 600 tons.
The generator it operates is of the three phase, 60 cycle type of 2000 kilowatt capacity which doubles
the capacity of our plant. You will also notice cut of our engine room, where huge boilers are
operated by Natural Gas as fuel. Note the neat effect and you will not likely believe that the boilers
were doing duty under a great load when the photograph was taken, but a visit to our boiler room
will convince the most skeptical that Gas is the only fuel that will give such results.
A large switchboard has also been installed. It is the very latest type and was built by the General
Electric Co., Chicago, 111. It is the management's desire that our customers visit the Electric Plant and
see the machinery, which cost many thousands of dollars, neccessary for manufacture of Electric current
