Evangeline Parrish Oil Lg2S6S
Can be Bought Today at $20 an Acre
m Five-Acre Tracts
THESE ADMIRABLE SMALL BLOCKS ARE LOCATED IN EVANGELINE PARISH Of
LOUISIANA, THE WONDER OIL STATE
WHERE ENORMOUS FORTUNES HAVE BEEN MADE IN INVESTMENTS IN OIL LEASES AHEAD OF THE DRILL.
OIL WELLS WHICH EACH PRODUCE 4,000 BARRELS AND 5,000 BARRELS AND 6,000 BARRELS HAVE MADE HUGE FORTUNES FOR INVESTORS WHO
WERE WISE ENOUGH TO BUY LOUISIANA LEASES WHILE PRICES WERE LOW.
FIVE ACRES FOR $100
""" That is the price today. As operation* sweep across Louisiana, development grows. The low-priced lease of today may be'the star investment of the summer, when big com-
panies may bid and pay $10,000 an acre for the selected acreage where great oil pools are waiting the touch of the steel drill.
We have subdivided 80 acres into 5-acre tracts for the investor who wishes to be represented in the Louisiana f 'eld. '
These tracts are located within four and one-half miles of wells owned by the Standard Oil Company, the greatest oil corporation on«earth.

The above picture is a cross section view
of the Louisiana geological formations,
showing the different structures through
which an oil well drills to find the oil pools
which underlie the surface in that state
By following these different formations in
the picturr you can see the undulating
shales, limerocks, water-sands, shell form-
ation and everything encountered The
well which you see in the picture passes
into the gas sand near the bottom and,
after passing through the gas sand which is
always found first, the well then touches
the oil-producing formation or sand. Ga>
is not found in a vacant place in the earth's
formation, but in what is known in the oil fields as a petroleum gas sand, and oil is found in the same
manner only below the gas sand; the water sand is alwa> • found below the oil sand \ great many peo-
ple who are not familiar with the formation* of the earth and who have had no experience in the oil
fields, have an erroneous idea of where gas. oil and watc come from, but each one of them have their
respective sands. Oil being lighter than water is naturally found on the top of water sand, and gas
being lighter than either is naturally found first The lower formation of water found in the oil fields
is always salty, indicating the presence of the sea in that neighborhood in the early formations of the
earth.
The Standard Oil Company production is 4' _■ miles southeast of this eighty acres.
We are reliably informed that these wells are producing 50 barrels each per day of high
grade oil at a depth of around 1100 t'eet, and have been producing for seven vears. One
of.these wells is reported to have come in with a flush production of 1500 barrels, and
the others at around 1000 barrels, and they have settled down to good pumpers as men-
tioned above.
Clnse to this production the Standard is evidently trying to find a deeper sand and
has a well which is reported as "fishing at 1600 feet."
The Standard is drilling another well in section 24, <>f this township, about three
miles from this eightv acres, at Pine Prairie: is drilling at 1500 feet north of Eunice 12
miles south of the field.
A location has been made just northeast of this acreage at Turke> creek.
Simms is drilling at 700 feet in Sec. 13-3n-2, less than four miles west of this acre-
age. and 20 miles north.
Tex-la-kan Co. is drilling at 1500 feet near Oak Dale, in Sec. 10-3-3. twelve miles
west of this tract.
Two wells are drilling near the town of Woodworth. about 18 miles north of this
tract.
There was a good showing of oil and gas in the test in the citv of Alexandria, about
30 miles to the north.
The entire section is under lease and extensive drilling starting in Evangeline and
surrounding parishes, several large drilling blocks having been recently contracted.
Wire for reservations and let remittances follow. Lease buyers who want some-
thing choice will find it to their advantage to use haste.
