Beggs in Storm Zone
Beggs. Okla., May 31.—A cyclone
struck the town of Newby, a small j
hamlet fifteen miles west of here late
Saturday afternoon and did great dam-
age. Hams and houses were overturn-
ed. trees uprooted and other property
damage resulted. Trees two feet In
diameter were torn from the ground
and hurled high in the air.
The six year old son of R. Fisher,
a farmer, living in the village, was al-
most instantly killed when a barn in
which the youngster sought shelter
during the storm, collapsed, burying
the boy in the ruins.

train here was met by the ambulance
of the Tulsa hospital and he was taken
to that instituion. Wracked with pain
as he was, Greenan did his utmost to
aid the men moving him from the car
to the ambulance, but he sighed when
the Job was completed. His condition
is so serious that death is expected.
A traveling man on the train, who
for "home" reasons refused to give
his name, gave the following version
of the storm;
"There were two separate and dis-
tinct cyclones. One struck Depew
shortly after 4 o'clock in the after-
noon and the other a little after 5
o'clock. The wind was terrific. Houses
were unroofed, trees were uprooted
and large property damage was'done.
I saw two cotton gins completely level-
ed. The storm came up the Frisco
tracks for a number of miles and its
path could be easily followed.
"Aside from Mr. Greenan's injury
I do not think there were any serious
injuries. Several arms and ribs broken
by flying debris but none of the in-
juries were dangerous.
