If you have a photograph of your own home we will
engrave a duplicate of it in the bowl of any spoon we
have in the house. Does not this statement appear cl®*r
to you? Rest assured that I mean just what 1 say. We
are actually prepared to engrave any local views in the
bowl of any spoon, and at a price which is within the
reach of every buyer of souvenir spoons. The fact that
not another store in this town is now or has been in a
position to do this kind of work proves thi great strides
in leadership being taken by this house.

of Uniting Under One

The council met is special ses-
sion Monday night with all
members present except Council-
man Parker.
The object of the meeting as
stated by the mayor was for the
purpose of considering the prop-
osition of consolidating Hailey-
ville and Hartshorne.
On motion and second the rules
were suspended and the question

left open for discussion by all de-
siring to take part.
After a discussion of the subject
quite freely, the concensus of
opinion developed as follows:
In favor of uniting—Dr. C. C.
Savage, S. A. Maysey, M. L.
Thompson, F. C. Savage, Harry
Serwinsky, Will Anderson, J. R.
Berry, N. E. Tuell, Jno. Hunt,
(Hartshorne.) Messrs. Miller
and Dalton, Dr. Hailey, from a
general stand point. Dr. Little,
favored uniting if it would bene-
fit the people. Marshal Foster
stated that the mayor of Hailey-
ville favored uniting the towns.
L. E. Christian favored careful
consideration .of the subject, and
would like to see the towns unite
if the people would be benefited
by consolidation. Mayor Hunt
sprung the postoffice question
and subsequently announced his
disapproval of consolidation.
It being the sense of the body
that annexation was the proper
thing to do, on motion and sec-
ond the mayor was authorized
to appoint a committee of three
to confer with a like committee
from the Haileyville council in
regards to the question of unit-
ing the towns. Councilmen
Tuell, Anderson and Walker were
named on this committee.
When Statehood Will Come.
The statehood fight is now to
be fought to a finish. The mi-
nority report is in and the senate
is ready to take up the discussion
of the Hamilton bill. It is more
than likely that several amend-
ments of minor importance will
1>e accepted, and we are still of
the opinion that Senator Bev-
eridge will agree to Jow Ari-
zona and New Mexico to vote
separately on the constitution,
and that statehood in order to
carry must receive a majority of
the votes in each of the territories.
This probably would not be
acceded to before the close of the
session. If the senate should
strike out the consideration of
the admission of Arizona and
New Mexico or should vote for
the admission of New Mexico
then it can be put down that no
enabling act will be passed be-
fore late next spring—Oklahoma
