Elaine Young Marshall
Elaine Young Marshall
passed from this earth on
Sunday, April 17, 2011, to
rejoin her Lord Jesus and her
beloved husband Ralph. Bom
on July 25, 1925 in Sapulpa,
Elaine was the fourth child of
Glenn O. and Thora Kate
Young and grew up in
Sapulpa.
She graduated from
Sapulpa High School in the
Class of 1942 along with her
lifelong childhood friends and
fellow "Petite Debutantes”
Claudeen Humes Young. Betty
Jo Hermes Clement, and a
number of other local women
who are still reluctant to have
their names publicly associat-
ed with that high school girls
club!
She married her husband
Ralph in March IX. 1949 and
they made their home in
Albuquerque, N. M where
Ralph served as Secretary of
the New Mexico Medical
Association. They reared their
three children. Carol Marshall
Elaine Marshall
Taylor, Glenn Randolph
Marshall, and Sara Marshall
Early there where she and
Ralph hosted many happy
summer vacation memories
for their children and their
Oklahoma cousins.
She was preceded in death
by her parents Glenn O. and
Thora Kate Young and her
older brothers, Glenn A.
Young, former State Senator
John W. Young, nephews
Marine PFC William Glenn
Young and Sapulpa Police Lt.
Gary Young, and a younger
brother Thomas Alexander
Young.
She is survived by her older
brother, former District
Attorney David Young, sister
Dorothy Young Lawson of
Midland, Texas, and two
younger brothers, Norbert
Young of Orlando, Florida and
Uli Young of Sparks, Okla.; a
host of local nieces and
nephews including Gay Ann
Young, Joy Young Zumwalt,
John Mark Young, David Lee
Young, Brad Young; nine
grandchildren, and five grea-
grandchildren.

Albuquerque, N.M.
