Anna Julia Ballard, 97, died
peacefully at her Sapulpa
home on Sunday. October 2.
2011. Anna was bom on July.
30 1914 in McCloud. Okla.
She was preceded in death
by her husband R.C. Ballard;
her parents. Joe and Gertrude
Clark: and one brother. Allen
Clark.
She is survived by her three
sons. Ken Ballard and wife Pat
of Victoria. Texas, Robert
Mallard and wife Charlotte of
Del Rio. Texas. Joe "Rusty"
Ballard and wife Twana of
Sapulpa: five daughtcrs; Jean
Lewis and husband Berl of
Bamsdall. Phyllis Nanny of
Sapulpa, Dee Brouner and
husband Clyde, of Sapulpa.
Janice Burgess and husband
Denny of Terlton. Nelda
Douglas and husband. Ken of
Sapulpa: two sisters. Mamie
Anna Ballard

Sapulpa resident, died Sunday.
October 2. 2011 at the age of
94 years old. She was bom
January 23. 1917, to Lee and
Jennie Ford, raised in Sapulpa
and upon graduation from
Sapulpa High School. married
Donald Lloyd Dufford. her
husband of 60 years. She was a
homemaker and a member of
Wcslsidc Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons.
Donald Dufford. Jr., and wife
Carol of Broken Arrow.
Edward Dufford and wife
Donna of Rolling Meadows.
III.; two daughters. Sandra
Wells and husband Carl, and
Nila Dufford
Nancy Payne and husband
H.L., all of Sapulpa Also sui
vising are nine grandchildren
and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Nila
have been set for 2 p.m.
Wednesday. October 5. 2011
in the Smith Funeral Home
Chapel, with the Reverend
Vernon Howard officiating.
Burial will be in South Heights

Sammie Hendrix, 66. died
at home in Claremore on
Sunday, October 2, 2011 The
cause of death was a heart
attack. He was born on
December 5. 1944. in Tulsa.
Okla. His parents were
Samuel Warren Hendrix and
Maxine Lorraine Morris
Hendrix. He grew up in
Collinsville.Okla., and attend
ed Collinsville Public Schools.
He was a four-year letterman
in several sports during his
high school years. He graduat-
ed from Collinsville High
School in 1963.
After attending college for
a short time, he enlisted in the
United States Army and
proudly served his country
during the Vietnam era. Upon
completing his tour of duty, he
enrolled at Northeastern State
College in Tahlequah. Okla.
Sam (as he was known)
worked primarily in sales and
also in the service industry He
was a loyal friend and a dedi-
cated father to his daughter
and son His greatest joy was
spending time with his two
children when ihey were
young He loved sports and
the great outdoors. He was so
very proud of his two grand-
sons and let everyone know
that
He was preceded in death
by his parents. Sam and
Maxine Hendrix of
Collinsville in 1990. and by
his beloved son. Kyle Warren
Hendrix in 1985.
He is survived by his
daughter Samantha Kaye
Harris (and son-in-law Kip
Harris) of Austin. Texas along
with their two sons, Jackson
Riley Hams and Hayden Kyle
Harris. He is also survived by
a brother. Jeffrey Hendrix of
Foyil. Okla as well as numer-
ous other friends and relatives.
He was married for 22
years to the former Patricia
Ward of Sapulpa. Okla He
lived in Sapulpa from 1969
until 1992.
Private services will be pro-
vided by Mallory Martin
